Featured Project

On-Line Consumer Marketing:

Targetting U.S. Military Personnel Worldwide

Background: The client sells telecommunications services to individuals around the world. The Worldwide Military Marketing organization specializes in marketing and providing customer service to U.S. Military personnel around the world.

Problem: The marketing team wanted an eStrategy that served as a basis for the transformation of their on-line activity. That eStrategy had to translate into specific changes that boosted sales and improved on-line customer service.

Solution: Virtual worked closely with the client team to develop an eStrategy that was aligned with their Marketing Plans and capitalized on the e-opportunities to grow revenue and reduce cost in the delivery of product and services worldwide.

Specifically we:

  • Conducted assessment of existing efforts and identified the opportunities and issues facing the marketing team.
  • Documented results, findings, and recommendations. Managed the selection and on-going relationship with .com companies that target the U.S. Military consumers to market to these customers via banners, newsletters and direct email.
  • Developed tools for tracking and reporting results and ROI. Managed the integration of customer care centers into e-mail customer service and on-line sales tools.
  • Coordinated the on-line efforts of the marketing, advertising, web development and customer service teams to ensure that project milestones were met.

Some Results:

  • Average orders per month increased 400%
  • Marketing expenses were reduced 26% in the same time period
  • Average order size increased by 38%
  • Sales per Visitor increased from .5 to 3.5
  • Customer Service savings covered 50% of the web site marketing costs.
